Craig DeBernard is a third generation farmer from a family who immigrated from Italy in the early 1900s. As a child, he learned the trade of farming while working on his father's farm (known in the area as Rick's & Van's of King George Co.). 

​

In 1991, he decided to carry on the family tradition of agriculture to the name of C&T Produce. To date, he farms about 500 acres of land in Stafford and King George Counties. From the starting days of selling on the corner of George and Price Edward Streets in Downtown Fredericksburg, C&T Produce has grown into a legacy in the White Oak and Stafford County Regions. Craig farms right off of the Rappahannock River, right where his father, Richard DeBernard, and his grandfather, Michael DeBernard, farmed, as well. Craig also farms orange groves in Myakka City, Florida, after his father, Richard.

Known for his vine-ripened tomatoes, sugar-sweet watermelons, and finger-licking corn, Craig has pleased his customers by doing what he does best: farming. And, he does it on a local level, which allows the area residents (and even the people that are reached by futher-away market locations) to support their community with local, sustainable agriculture that has the best interests of the customer in mind.

As we have looked back on the past 25 years of farming, we attribute our success to our loyal customers and the variety of produce that we raise. We have expanded our customer base to not only the Fredericksburg region, but also to the Northern Virginia region, as well, through farmers' markets. Without our customers, we would not be where we are today; Stafford and King George Counties are rapidly losing farmland to housing developments and subdivisions, so the loyalty of our customers is of utmost importance to us. We really appreciate our customers, and look forward to providing you with the freshest fruits and vegetables from our farm that we possibly can.
